Taverham Vets Royal Canin Food Range

  • Vet Exclusive range - not available in pet shops (a different range of Royal Canin can be purchased from pet shops but not in this high quality form)
  • High quality protein - the product is not bulked out like some cheaper foods so the pet doesn't need to eat as much and therefore the food lasts longer and is better value. This also means there are less faeces to clear up.
  • The foods also offer tartar control for teeth, hairball regulator, and joint protection as standard. There is also an ingredient in them to keep the coat colour (so black dogs and cats don't go brown).
  • Royal Canin offer a 100% money back guarantee if the pet does not like the food.
  • Foods designed for each lifestage of the pet and its associated nutritional demands.

The foods are designed for the LIFESTAGES OF THE CAT as follows:-

Cats - Vital Milk, Weaning, Growth, Young Male/Female, Mature, Senior

Vital Milk (same as Cimicat)

For tiny kittens - this comes in a pack that includes a feeding bottle and teats. This would be used for kittens who are unable to feed from their mother for some reason or those in large litters that need a supplement.

Weaning (Dry Food)

Use from 4 weeks to 4 months. This food can be mixed with water to make a mush for weanling kittens. It contains antioxidants that give immunity support. It is also suitable for the pregnant/lactating mother cat.

Growth (Dry or Pouches)

This would be used from 4 months to neutering age - it can also be used from 9 weeks.

Young Male/Young Female (Dry or Pouches)

This is the ideal food for cats post-neutering and through adulthood. It will help prevent weight gain (neutered animals tend to put on weight because of reduction in circulating sex hormones) and so reduce the incidence of crystals/stones and other problems associated with obesity. If the cat lives in a multi-sex household then feed the Young Male to all the cats. Royal Canin supply Neutering Packs and the nurses should give one of these out with each cat that has been neutered.

Mature (Dry or Aluminium Trays)

This is for cats aged 7-10 years and supports the kidney and helps maintain muscle mass. It contains nutrients to help maintain the health and vitality of the older cat.

Senior (Dry or Aluminium Trays)

This for cats over 10 and supports the kidneys and also gives joint support with added chondroitin and glucosamine to help maintain healthy joints. Again it contains nutrients to help maintain the health and vitality of the older cat.
