Diagnostic Endoscopy
Our diagnostic endoscopy service is led by a team of experienced veterinary surgeons—Helen Steele, Katherine Allan, Alex Sterrit, Tom Robertson, and Jo Spellman-Marriott. The team are available to consult and determine whether endoscopy is appropriate for your patient's individual case. We also accept specific referrals for procedures like foreign body removal (e.g., gastric foreign body retrieval). Diagnostic endoscopy procedures offered include;
- Gastroscopy / Gastroduodenoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Tracheoscopy / Bronchoscopy
- Rhinoscopy
- Otoendoscopy
- Urethrocystoscopy / Vaginoscopy (for female dogs only)
Surgical Endoscopy
Our surgical endoscopy service is led by veterinary surgeons Helen Steele, Luke Strickland, Daniel Lloyd, and Sophie Lavender. One of our most frequently performed procedures is the laparoscopic ovariectomy (key-hole spay). We also regularly carry out laparoscopic cryptorchidectomy for diagnosing and removing intra-abdominal retained testicles.
Advanced endoscopic surgeries include, not are not limited to, the following procedures:
- Laparoscopic liver biopsies
- Laparoscopy-assisted intestinal biopsies
- Laparoscopy-assisted cystotomy
- Laparoscopy-assisted gastropexy (prophylactic)
- Thoracoscopic pericardial window surgery for recurrent pericardial effusion
